Visitors are free to read any book within the facility, but only those with library cards may borrow books. Those who live, work, or attend school in Kumamoto City and live in a municipality that has a library material lending agreement may create a library card free of charge. You must show proof of residence or identity to make a library card (something that has both your name and address listed such as a driver's license, health insurance card, and mail received within the last 3 months).
Your library card will expire 5 years from the date of registration. Library cards can be renewed.
If you have a book past its return date, you will not be able to make any new rentals,reservations, or extensions.
If you lose a library book, you must compensate the facility.
If you login to the MyLibrary service from any library homepage, you may confirm your rentals and reservations or change your email and password. You can login by using your library card number (the 13-digit barcode on the back) and a password. ※Your first temporary password will be the last 4 digits of your date of birth. Example: Someone born on January 2nd would have the password 0102
